Should "The GC" have been taxpayer funded?

Should structured reality show , and any future productions of a similar ilk, be taxpayer funded through NZ On Air?

Prime Minister John Key this morning told Marcus Lush that although he has not seen the show, he defends NZ On Air's decision to fund its production.

The GC, which premièred on TV3 last week, caused outrage on social networking sites after it was revealed nearly $420,000 of funding was granted to the show. Creator and producer Bailey Mackey, however, told Willie & JT last week that people need to view the series as a whole and not judge it on just one episode.

Are you happy with funding being given for shows like "The GC"?
