Should the officers responsible for the death of courier driver Halatau Naitoko be facing charges?
Halatau was 17 years old when he was accidentally shot and killed on Auckland's Northwestern motorway by AOS member known only as Officer 84. The police were in pursuit of Stephen McDonald, who was armed, driving erratically and high on methamphetamine.
Another innocent bystander, Richard Neville, was also injured when the officers opened fire. Mr. Neville says he is disappointed in the independent report and feels that AOS standards simply weren't high enough that day.
Is this a case of corporate manslaughter and should the Police be facing charges?
