Willie Middleton got his head stuck in a bin in Aberdeen city centre. He was looking for his hat.
"A normal story of misfortune," you might say. "Nothing to see here."
Not in this day and age of social networking, however. Mr. Middleton, 53, has since found himself being talked about around the world after images of his mishap hit the likes of Twitter and Facebook.
Willie says he was stuck for about 20 minutes, the stench from rubbish becoming unbearable.
“It was stinking. I’m now known as Bucket Heid,” he told Scottish paper The Daily Record.
One unnamed lady said “I walked around the corner and saw his walking stick on the ground and his bum sticking out and said, ‘That’s Willie’."
“Me and my pals tried to pull him out but his ears were stuck."
