Rugby player has stroke, wakes up gay and becomes hairdresser

A 120kg rugby player from Wales had a change in heart after suffering a stroke in the gym.

Chris Birch awoke from a stroke as a gay man, gave up his job and retrained as a hairdresser.

The 26-year-old says “I was gay when I woke up and I still am," something which can't have gone down too well with his girlfriend since he'd proposed to her just prior!

The apoplexy also caused a desire for him to lose weight - Chris now weights 70kg and no longer spends his weekends swilling beer with the lads.

“Suddenly, I hated everything about my old life. I didn't get on with my friends, I hated sport and found my job boring.”
