11:25:- Environews. Eco-legend Muriel Fisher In Memoriam. br> On July 23rd Muriel Fisher died just ahead of her 97th Birthday. She not only protected her North Shore Kauri grove “Fernglen” from developers at great personal cost, but was in the front line of many environmental campaigns. She also popularised native planting in gardens with several books. Hear an interview with the feisty Muriel recorded at her home in Fernglen when she was a young 92.
