Pete's a free man.
Finally sense has prevailed and Peter Bethune is coming on home. It will be bloody interesting to see how the local yocals react. I found it astounding the number of kiwis who reckoned the Japanese justice system should put the boot in, on behalf of the Japanese whale slaughtering industry, when Pete was first incarcerated.
Truely I think he deserves a welcome akin to that of the All Whites. This guy has shown the world what courage is and walked his talk. It sounds like he may change tact and direction now, some may say he is copping out, but I respect a person who makes a call to move on a learn from where they have been.
Murray McCully on the other hand is so not up to his responsibilities. The guy is holding down a couple of portfolios and that require a huge degree of charm and leadership qualities. Murray is fast proving he has neither! Stop blaming others Murray, you are a minister of the government, step up, represent your people when they are locked up in foreign jails, and step up when a world cup is looming and nothing is being done to prepare for it. Stop playing the blame game and make some bloody decisions, like the kiwi tradition of inventing in the shed goes Murray, get on with it!!!
