Turn down a "suitable" job offer from next July and see your benefits cancelled for 13 weeks.
That's the new ruling for those receiving benefits; one which angered a number of people to the point of protest this week.
One protester, named Jack Daylight, says "the jobs just are not there". Mr. Daylight, who has a degree in mechanical engineering, told the Herald he applies for three or four jobs a week.
"The only job opportunity Winz has offered me is as a bouncer at a bar. I didn't end up taking that job. I can't fight."
He also says Work and Income have encouraged him to apply for jobs in Australia.
Is the new rule fair? Where are the jobs?
