NME Magazine has compiled "the most essential songs of the last six decades" to mark the publication's 60th birthday.

The complete list of "100 most essential songs of the last six decades" is available in the latest issue of the NME magazine, but these are what they thought were the top 20 most essential songs of the last six decades:
