Motek, - the home of NZ made motorhomes, and the topic this week – Boys Toys! Otherwise known as motorhome accessories.
Motek has narrowed down the top four accessories that make travelling in a motorhome even better - starting with awnings.
These are great for providing shade in summer and shelter in winter, with the size really depending on that of your campervan. There are two options available a manual wind out version, or an electric option and they generally start around $1500.
There is also a satellite to suit every budget. Motorhome owners can choose from the UHF aerial, mobile satellite dish, mounted satellite dish or fully automated satellite dish. Prices start at $1000 but can go north of $3000.
What are the other top two accessories for motorhomes?
Solar panels are a great way to save money as well as the planet. While finding the right panel depends on usage and motorhome size, Motek recommend a minimum of two 50W panels, as they’re great for providing additional power for a few days. And unlike a mobile generator, solar panels don’t make a sound.
And finally, you can’t forget that we can get four seasons in one day and a good heater, either the diesel or LPG option, will keep you toasty warm. Pricing starts around $1000 including fitting.
