Hi Michael,
Our family has been very much involved with the Erebus case for many years, having lost both a relative and a very close friend (both young men, originally from Switzerland but residents of NZ at the time of the crash. - The parents of one victim, their only child, are still alive, 89 and 96 years old now. They have visited NZ many times since the accident, and would happily take up Mike Pero's offer if they were still able to do so.
My daughter, who was 12 years old at the time has just sent me an e-mail with the Herald ad from Mike Pero with the words: 'If that happens, I want to go'.
I can't see how the timing can be a bad choice. It is right now, this week, that we all talk about the events of 1979 ....

Michael says:Thanks for your thoughts, Lee Anne.
I must admit that I'm of the view that if Air NZ had the confidence of victims' families then Mike Pero's initiative would not have been required, irrespective of his motive.
Best wishes
Michael
