This Saturday Helen won’t be joining us she is away in Hong Kong on a food finding and eating expedition.
I have recently learnt how to prepare Japanese food at Sachie’s Kitchen. Sachi Nomura has been in New Zealand for over ten years and loves entertaining at home and in her “Sachie’s Kitchen” in Auckland.
Sachie joins us on the show and explains why New Zealanders have been so keen to learn how to prepare and enjoy the cuisine of Japan.
In the garden this week: “A garden of remembrance”. I have an idea for you so you can start a new garden in remembrance of the one you love right in your own garden at home.
A drink that I love not only during summer but also at this time of the year is Cider, the crisp clean taste of Braeburn apples is just superb!
Recently I was at my local wine shop and met Sam Cooney from “Apple Tree” and sampled some of his carefully brewed apple delight.
We catch up with Sam on Saturday, The Cider Maker. His experience as a wine maker gave him the skills to apply to cider. After four years study for a double degree in viticulture and wine making, he spent two years learning a variety of styles by working in well known wine producing regions including The Hawkes Bay, Waiheke Island, Central Otago, the Margaret River in Australia and in the France’s Alsace region, where wines have been made by the same family for generations.
I will also be reading out all your lovely emails, so keep sending them through. Just click my picture on my page to email me.
Looking forward to your company see you Saturday.
