Is HIV prejudice OK when it comes to daycare?

HIV child - grandmother

Should daycare centres be allowed to exclude kids with HIV from attending?

Campbell Live last night reported the story of a Kiwi child, aged four, with HIV. The boy has been asked to leave his daycare.

AIDS Foundation Executive Shaun Robinson told Marcus Lush that the exclusion smacks of ignorant hysteria and that the issue had been going on for weeks.

"At a meeting that we had, they simply did not want to listen to the information about HIV. They've really closed their minds to listening to what the risk is." he said.

Is the daycare centre just in eliminating the boy?
