Is Coronation Street losing the plot?

Is Coronation Street on the way out?

Complaints have taken hold after TVNZ announced it was moving the popular soap to a new 5.30pm slot.

The show, that caused a stir earlier this year with its racy storylines, will have to have certain scenes cut to make it appropriate for the post-school TV audience.

Do you watch Coro? Does the new time slot concern you?

Please put Coronation St back to an evening slot and leave the content as it was screened in Britain. If not 7-30pm what about 8.30pm???

We have to save Coro timeslot It is more important than the RWC and the world Economic meltdown We need to ram home to the Kamikaze TVNZ boss Jeff Latch that he is a total idiot if he moves Coro out of its present spot He is committing Hari Kiri and deserves it As Mark Twain once correctly observed, TVNZ's Jeff Latch, is using "Lies, damned lies, and statistics", because 525,000 on average watch every episode of Coro Jeff Latch is only quoting 158,200, being only the 25 to 54 age group only Coro is the Number 1 watch program on all NZ TV most weeks, almost always ahead of horribly padded TV1 news Coro is already edited 10 minutes short due to it being 60 minutes in UK without adverts now they want to edit out all the Sex, all the Murders, all the crimes, all the violence, just to fit it into the Children's Hour What a pack of drongos We need to make sure they know we have had a guts full of cooking shows we need to tell the Masterchef advertisers...We will not shop with them... Countdown is principal sponsor Tell TVNZ you will totally stop watching almost all TVNZ programmes on TV!,TV2,TV7 & U David Thew Auckland

Is Coronation Street losing the plot?My answer to that question is Yes and it reminds all of us couch potato armchair viewers of our own NZ soap Shortland Street at which that was losing the plot. You get all types coming along acting on screen.I certainly do not want run people down but with the likes of any overseas television soap whether it is British or American television soaps you get all types coming along and acting and you start to lose touch big time.

I cannot believe that TV1 have the cheek to move Coronation Street, if they were really concerned about their viewers then they would leave Coro alone, what makes them think that the generation who watch Coro would want to watch another show about cooking!! Some of us are still coming home from work at 5.30pm and we all don't have the equipment to record. It is about time TVNZ listened to the people
