Do you think all children prescribed drugs to treat ADHD need them?
Figures show more than 100,000 of our children are now being prescribed drugs to control hyperactivity. The same figure in 2001 was 60,000.
Psychologist and behavioural expert Frances Steinberg told TVNZ the figures are the result of doctors prescribing to "see what happens".
"In the long run we'll have an entire generation whose needs are not being met."
Developmental paediatrician Andrew Marshall, however, put the figures down to improved understanding of the condition and doctors having the treatment available to them.
Should we trust the doctors on this one?
