Immigrant business owner Martin Payne kicked out of New Zealand - Audio

Thu, 21 Apr 2011 19:30
Six years ago Martin Payne moved to New Zealand. He came on an entrepreneur's visa. He had money and was keen to spend it here. Now he's being booted out of the country despite being in good health. Campbell Live, Thursday 21st April 2011

Martin Payne has certainly been hard done by this National government. I can't for the life of me understand why the unfairness and basic inhumanity and compassion, was so lacking in dealing with his situation. It must show New Zealand in such a bad light, I doubt any other overseas visitor will be willing to risk investing their money here. On this issue alone, I hope the people of NZ will drop-kick this pathetic National party out of power in the coming election.

Ms Wilkinson will not be addressed by me as "Right Honorable" while her behaviour is anything but "right" or "honorable". Her legal background has obviously produced an individual who lacks the ability to reconsider even in the face of basic reason. She does not have a mandate from the New Zealand public . . . as a list MP her mandate comes from the National Party. Her lack of a sense of accountability to the public is quite offensive to most New Zealanders in my humble opinion. Her behaviour demonstrates how flawed our current MMP electoral system is and how much it requires urgent reform. In short, this woman is a "National" disgrace

What a great way to get out of a recession, get immigrants to invest here and then kick them out. It's just too ridiculous for words. How harsh to keep someone away from his family after being nothing but a good man to his family, his community and our country. RIDICULOUS!

What a sorry state this is. If he had health issues before he came he should have been denied access then. Giving that he was allowed in, has always been honest and invested all his savings here he should stay!!
