Home Ventilation.

What is it and what does it do?

The Classic DVS Ventilation System uses ‘positive pressure’ technology to push out the stale, moisture-laden air in your home, replacing it with drier, fresher, filtered air from the roof space - controlling condensation and improving air quality as a result.

How does it work?

An energy-efficient fan quietly takes the drier, fresher air from your roof space and draws it through an internationally-rated filter. This fresher, filtered air is then gently pushed into your home through ceiling vents. The incoming air is directed along the ceilings where it mixes with warmer air and spreads evenly through the home. Put simply, it creates a positive pressure inside your home that ‘pushes out’ the stale, unhealthy air through gaps in the building.

What you’ll see in your roof space:

1. Energy-Efficient Fan Only DVS home ventilation systems feature this type of energy-efficient fan motor which consumes as little as 8 watts of electricity – that’s around 85 per cent LESS electricity than traditional motor technology which could easily consume 60 watts, i.e. more than seven times as much power.

2. DVS Air Filters The DVS range of affordable air filters meet international air quality ratings and remove dust, pollen, plant spores and fibreglass. We also offer BioShield Healthy Infusion treatment to inhibit the growth of moulds, mildew and odour-causing bacteria to ensure you breathe only the healthiest, freshest air in your home.

3. DVS Air-Warmer (Optional) The DVS Air-Warmer is an optional extra designed to pre-warm (or take the chill off) cooler air from the roof space during winter months before it enters the home.

4. Automatic Summer Ventilation (Optional) DVS Automatic Summer Ventilation delivers a continuous supply of fresh, filtered air, drawn from outside the roof space, when the roof space itself becomes too hot.

What you’ll see in your home:

The Control Panel All you will see inside your home is the control panel and the ceiling vents.

Fully automated G4 The G4 offers personal control of your home environment, all through an easy, simple to use interface. Your system will be configured for you, and the airflow and settings individually calibrated to the size of your home to run automatically. However, you will be able to easily fine tune the settings or adjust the "aggressiveness" of the system by adjusting the heat recovery and heat retention settings.

7E Standard The DVS 7E is the economical choice for many smaller homes. Simplicity is the key – on/off and a fan speed control allow you to manage your home’s comfort level yourself.

Ceiling vent (standard on all models) The patented DVS ceiling vent directs the incoming air along the ceiling rather than downwards, allowing it to mix with existing warmer air at ceiling level. Unique to DVS, the ceiling vent has deflectors which enable air to be directed along the ceiling in up to eight different directions. This allows incoming air to be deflected away from a favourite chair, for example, or towards a part of the house that needs more help to control condensation. And now only DVS can offer you the new Tempervent, a unique and revolutionary new way to cost-effectively warm the air that the DVS ventilation system brings into your home via the ceiling vents! Tempervents feature a low-wattage heating element for fitting to any or all of your ceiling vents (they fit to both new and existing DVS ventilation systems).

The result? Cost-effectively pre-warmed air that you can target into the rooms of your choice

@Ruth, AIR IQ from Smart Energy Solutions would be a better system I believe, as they have a prefilter (G4) and a F7

By Ruth

Question please...My unit has been assessed for the installation of an AirIQ ventilation system, by Energysolutions, can you recommend it. Unlike other systems, this one contains 2 filters to freshen air quality?? Thank you, Ruth

All I can say about the ventilation systems currently available is do your homework & do it good. DVS is the best end of story.

We got Smartvent in for a quote, they were on the ball and polite. We called DVS for a quote, the person taking the calls did not speak english very well, could not understand myself or my wife after trying to spell our surname. After the third time, we hung up. (they confirmed they were in Albany)

I emailed, then rang, both DVS and HRV 4 days ago...I have already had an assessment at my home, and quote from HRV...I haven't even as much as had an acknowledgment from DVS???(I have heard that it will take months for them to even do an assessment) If DVS want to promote themselves here on the West Coast of the South Island(where there is a huge need for these ventilation type systems),I suggest they seriously look at their service franchises and quickly!!!
