Yes they are.

Its disgraceful that there appears now to be more reporters and camera people arriving in CHCH than rescuers. I really feel for the people that have lost family and friends. For them to have their grief/loses/loved ones plastered over every paper and newscast for days/weeks/months must be terrible. The TV news are the worst in that they run and rerun the same clips in a desperate effort to appear more informed than the other channel. Responsible, story based, informative, self moderated journalism is apparently dead.

Sadly its not just dead in CHCH but around the world. I guess NZ journalists are following the dollar as their CNN or BBC counterparts have been doing for years.

Funny how they are all wearing their best suits and ties. How much of a hand have they been lending to rescue efforts between shoots? Do they have special campervans flown in so they can pretty themselves between broadcasts?

Finally I hope I'm not alone in my disgust. But strangely there is little (no) comment like this that I can find on the internet.

Brent
