Has Hurricane Sandy fascinated us in all the wrong ways?
Millions of people have woken without power along America's east coast after one of the largest storms in living memory careered through the region.
New York City is pretty much closed off by road, rail and air, with parts of its world-famous Subway flooded.
Hurricane Sandy has been a social media phenomenon - surely one of the most tweeted and Facebooked storms of all time. Twitter has been a flurry of uploaded images over the last 48 hours.
At time of writing, Sandy has claimed nearly 40 lives. Is this mass-sharing of images an "orgy of storm porn"?
