'Great bike' email leaves council worker red-faced

By Helen Castles

It's been a bad day on the job for a council clerk in Northland.

A Whangarei District Council worker has been left red-faced after sending an inappropriate email to hundreds of journalists across New Zealand.

The clerk had intended to send the image of a man riding a motor bike shaped like a naked woman to a select few - but accidentally hit the email group "journalists".

He immediately recalled the email which was swiftly followed by an apology from the council's chief operating officer.

Outstanding, some people need to have a laugh, instead of getting their pants in a knot.

Clever and inoffensive. If he can ride it in public, you can send it to whomever you accidentally like!
