Visiting my dad's grave in Papatoetoe I spotted the grave of a Mr Bastard aged 98. Considering the gyp I got with my surname. I reckon a person living that long with Bastard for surname would have to develop true character. Would have liked to have been MC at his funeral imagine the fun: "Well there is something you can always say about the deceased, he was a real old bastard".

I know of a Kiwi couple with the surname of Hunt who were going to name their kid Isaac until their folly was pointed out.

Sorey , speling is not my strong point . Can never understand why ruff and enough rhymes, but wood and food don’t.

You should ask Max why the terms roger and rogering have a meaning other than a name.

Another great name for a golfer would be Albert Ross (think 3 under for a hole)

I had a thought that it may be a classic April Fools gag (the name of the columnist, not the child abuse. If only) but the article is dated 25 March. His name is actually spelled Roger Boyes which leaves no room for alternate pronunciation to get his parents off the hook.
Outstanding.
I shall mention this on Saturday.
Thanks!
