Feilding farmer Ewen Macdonald has been found not guilty of murdering his brother-in-law Scott Guy.
Macdonald had already admitted charges of arson and vandalism against Scott and Kylee Guy's home, covering it with abusive graffiti. Defence lawyer Greg King, however, successful argued that vandalism did not make him the killer.
The 11-person jury took 12 hours to agree on a verdict. Macdonald remains in custody, awaiting sentencing for the crimes of vandalism and arson, amongst other charges.
