Interesting talk re cycling. The cyclist is at the mercy of the car - I'm vulnerable as the cyclist so its my responibility to pick my roads and maintain my safe space around me. I drive and cycle. I cycle in the middle of the road where there is not enough space for the car and I ( had to remind a lady that she had jammed me between the kerb and her car). Always cycle around parked cars ( been knocked off by a door opener - haha learnt that lesson quickly). We don't have cars two abreast so get off the road cyclists and go to the cyle track or veledrome (yep I'm a cyclists and i get annoyed at having to have to try getting around you to. Just be nice to each other, respect each other and remember the car hurts when it hits me, there is no way as a cyclist I can hurt a car (heaven knows sometimes I want to - yep that van that I went into when it did the uturn at the intersection in front of me)... i still love cycling tho and most of the time its all good. Makes some rules Mr transport minister or whoever does this!!!!
