Does it matter if there's more than one Webb Ellis Cup?

Webb Ellis Cup - or it's body double

Martin Snedden, the 2011 Rugby World Cup chief admitted yesterday that there are two Webb Ellis trophies.

He says the one that took the road trip earlier this year is the one that will be presented to the winner of the 2011 Rugby World Cup.

Both cups are considered to be "the real thing" - and both have been held by winning captains - but only one is ever used at a time.

Does it bother you that there is more than one cup? How can we be sure that no other deputy cups are lurking in the closet to be thrust upon the unsuspecting public? Do you care?

Does it matter if theres more than one Webb Ellis Cup? It is interesting for Martin Snedden to mention that there are two Webb Ellis trophies one of which is the 1906 Webb Ellis cup while the other one is the 1986 model and from what I can understand and from what I have learned that the name Webb Ellis comes from an English Anglican priest who named the first Webb Ellis trophy over in Rugby England in 1906.Furthermore the other Webb Ellis trophy is a remake of the first trophy in 1986 and that was the one I had my photograph taken of me standing next to it when it was display during the Rugby World Cup roadshow here in Christchurch.

I bought the Melbourne Cup won by Kiwi in 1983. I bought it on TradeMe from a bloke called Philip a few years ago. It's magnificent! It's shaped like a large half golf ball with handles on it and it is much lighter than you might think. Inside it is a bikini I "found" last summer. So yes, there should only be one Martin Sneddon Cup.

Does it really matter, at least if one of them goes missing there will be another one ready to take it place. Get over it those of you who are bitching about it.
