Do you respect Richie McCaw for turning down a knighthood?

Has Richie McCaw made the right decision by turning down a knighthood?

Prime Minister John Key says that the All Blacks captain turned down the offer.

“In the end the conclusion that he drew was that he would love to take it but now wasn’t the right time,” said Mr Key.

Should Richie be on that New Year's Day Honours List?

Yes and well done Richie .This archaic idea of Knighthood and titles is not the NZ way .Royalist Key only bought it back because he wants one .We should never have bought it back.Up the Republic.

YES, i respect richie and he has made the right decision as it was not him alone that brought home the cup and i thought knighoods should only be given to those that have and do contribute to the public and society and go out of there way to do so...he playes a profesional game where he is payed to preform so he has already gotten his just reward for his actions...just giving out knigthoods all willy nilly to people just means that a knigthood dont mean jack anymore.

Yes I think Richie McCaw should be knighted for helping win the world cup, just as Benji Marshall was knighted for captaining the Kiwi's to the great victory against the favourites, Australia.
