We are re-gibbing a bedroom in a brick house, and would like to know what material to use to help hold the bats on to the timber frame, because of the gap between the timber frame and brick is too small to staple building paper the appropraite way. Can you suggest the best way to help hold the bats without falling through the gap onto brick??

On Sunday you were talking about a wall heater (flat and sits against the wall) - a lady rang you asking for the name and you also said you had bought one for your child over the net. It sounded like Chrome or Chrone heater and you said it cost about 5c a day to run. We tried Bunnings but they did seem to know about that. ARe you able to assist us where to buy or the website.
Many thanks
Sue

I was in Silverstream (Hutt area) a couple of weeks ago and spotted steelwork glistening in a subdivision. On being curious I found about 6 "Golden Homes" under various stages of construction. I had not seen steel houses prior. I really liked the designs of some so talked to tradesmen working on several. All were so enthusiastic about using steel. They said not only was it strong, doesn't rot, so easy to put together, but it was cheaper. They said steel was incredibly common in Australia and we are just catching on. A painter said this was his first experience decorating a steel house and he found it great. "Everything was so nice and straight". I am thinking if it is so good why dont we have more steel framed houses. I have heard all pluses. Are there any disadvantages? Thanks, Arthur

When you airfoam the walls of a house that is part brick and part one of those boards that are not wood, do you do it from the outside or from the interior ?

Do you come to the Queenstown area? And when would you be down here next? We heard that you provide a free visit and provide a free, no-obligation quote. Our main issue is condensation and ice on the inside of the windows during the colder months of the year. We have a couple of smaller issues as well. Please would you be able to help us? Please contact us on the email address provided above at your earliest convenience. Thank you Sincerely Mary

My home built in the mid ninety's has 35 80mm down-lights throughout. This seems to me to be very inefficient as regards retention of heat. The ceilings are plaster. Some of the lights have variable controls.
If you agree can you advise what they would best be replaced with in regard to heat retention and maybe using energy efficient lighting.

I have a Comm. Serv. card and have had underfloor insulation installed, which made a 2deg warmer difference. I am entitled to $500 towards a heater,I think a Mitsubishi floor model may suit? My front door & bedroom face the southwest winds,so what is my priority...double glazing windows, wall insulation or a small econoheater in the bedroom? My unit is 1969 brick and tile. Thanks.

Bradford Gold Ceiling Blanket R2.8 from Smart Energy Solutions. 112m2 = $1313.20 incl. and includes $646.80 subsidy Please advise with regards to the above quotation what advantages or disadvatages does this form of insulation have over say pink bats.
