Dim sum

By Tony Murrell

Helen has just returned from a week in Hong Kong and is keen to talk Chinese cooking including dim sum, sticky pork ribs and more. Not so sure about the chicken’s feet though...

This week I went to AUT and got to enjoy some great food and Kiwi hospitality prepared by the students!

Click here to check out the amazing menu and the special events at AUT this month.

I got to meet the chefs and talk to Robert Oliver, author of “Me a Kai”. He has taken recipes from his latest book and adapted them for the unique kitchen environment at AUT, simply stunning, I’ll tell you more about my experience on the show!

Shear hard work! Well, that’s what lies ahead for us this week in Landscaping, removing a selection of plants that haven’t performed well and replacing them with new performers. Access is the issue so the challenge is going to be how to best and most efficiently prep for task ahead, I’ll you know how I get on.

Let’s look at the gardening calendar this month from The Tui New Zealand Vegetable Garden.

Looking forward to your calls and loads of fun on Saturday.

Best,

Tony (& Helen!)

Dear helen,
Is it better to bake with unsalted butter ? If so do you have to add salt to the recipie ?

Stump grinders are perfect for this - I would recommend getting someone in to do it as it can be an arduous job, however a sharp axe can be used to chop up the roots if you want to do it yourself.

we have an old dying plum tree in the middle of the yard that we want to get rid of. The roots have created a small mound that causes flooding, with the new garden design we want to get more lawn space. Is there a right & wrong way to do by yourself? We have a chainsaw, but I have seen people use stump drills. Or should we get a professional in for a quote? Thanks- love the show btw.
