What is Dr Daley's view on the reason there has been an explosion of people on the unemployment benefit and DPB since it was introduced?

The figure per annum has increased astronomically year by year as people seem to "cotton on" to it.

We kow there will always be a certian amount of unemployment, but does she think people choose the DPB as a lifestyle choice?

Also - how does she view the huge problem of old people retiring and taking up National Super....we all know they had a reasonable expectation it would be there for them, but what now since we can't afford to pay it to them. Why was this problem not anticipated in the past, and if it was, why was no action plan put in place then?

You might want to put a little more detail about Caoline's area of expertise. I presume she doesn't know everything about all New Zealand history. What is her specialist area? Can you define it a little more clearly, then people might be able to ask appropriate questions.
