Are the Maori Party making a principled stand over asset sales? Or it is simply blackmail?

The Maori Party are considering their options over the way the government is handling the sale of several State-owned Enterprises (SOEs). They say by removing the companies from sale from the State-owned Enterprises Act, the government is denying existence of the Treaty of Waitangi.

The Maori Party are threatening to walk away from the coalition over the issue.
