I worked with Mike Pero for a year - I got to know him & his business practices very well. He is a great guy and I have every confidence he was only trying to help. Air New Zealand should be ashamed.

So Air New Zealand thinks that because they caused the disaster, they are therefore entitled to the rights to all future flights? Their apology was insincere. Their lottery for a few seats on their flight is appalling and is less than a token effort. Congratulations to Pero for doing what Air New Zealand should have done 10 or 20 years ago. Fyfe's head should roll for his transparent hypocrisy.

Thirty years ago Air New Zealand management decided to change the trajectory of an aeroplane, going into white-out conditions, without telling the flight crew, and it ended in tragic results. Nobody has been held accountable, and it took thirty years for a vague apology. Now finally somebody is offering to put their money where their mouth is and provide a small amount of closure for families of the victims, and Air New Zealand is complaining about it! If this had happened in any other country, today, people would be protesting in the streets for heads to roll! These people aren't able to find Justice anymore ... why aren't people trying to at least help families deal with their grief?

Air New Zealand should be pleased that someone has come up with a way to aid the people who want to go to the Erebus site as they could only find six seats available for family members whose names had to be drawn out of a hat. Air New Zealand are calling Mike Pero's actions despicable, yet I would place the whole lottery draw in that category. As people have indicated that they would use Pero's flight opportunity, surely Air New Zealand should be pleased that these people's interests can be catered for. Air New Zealand have placed their needs as top priority for the past thirty odd years. Seems to me it is the families and friends of those who lost their lives that should be given top priority. Come on Air New Zealand, be more supportive.

If Air New Zealand were really concerned about the families of the victims they would have allocated more than 4 seats in the plane going down to Erebus.Remember the 'draw' the families had to go into? Who have they filled the plane with- all their little hangers-on! They are just furious they didnt do it first!!!!

I disagree with Mike Pero's plans to send 307 passengers along with Air New Zealand to Antarctica to pay their respects to Mt Erebus disaster victims on a Boeing 747 chartered by Air New Zealand. He has has his own business to look after.

Mike Pero is using this simply as a means of advertising his profile. I saw him last night and he made out that it was at his cost and his idea. I also can't understand why the government is paying for a group of people to visit the site. People die all the time in other countries, what has this got to do with the tax payer? Bah humbug

I'm getting out my Violin yet again.Aren't the media simply trying to hold Air NZ account for past wrongs?Doesn't that sound familiar?? It was 30 years ago.....No wonder the Maori are still bleating 170 years later. We have turned into a whining bunch of whuses.GET OVER IT NZPeople Died.... sad... but Get over it, and MOVE ON.As for Pero, at least he's trying, unlike Air NZ who are just a profit making excersise.
