The New Zealand football team were seen as the easy three points amongst the 32 teams at last year's FIFA World Cup, but against the odds drew all three group games. The results ensured they picked up not only their first ever World Cup point, but three - not to mention going home the only unbeaten team in the tournament.
But was this achievement enough to collect the title of "team of the year", Ricki Herbert received "Coach of the year", before going on to take the overall Halberg Award.
