If the Ady Gill had "maintained course and speed", not going anywhere, as required in close quarters by maritime law, and not powered forward into the path of the Shonan Maru #2, there would have been no collision. The videos prove that. The Ady Gil obviously "caused" the collision, but the courts may find the "fault" to be either party as both boats violated many maritime rules. We shall see what they decide.
