Best Armed Forces song of all time would have to be"White Cliffs of Dover" as sung by Dame Vera Lynn."Lily Marlain" as sung by Marlene Deitritch,would have to also be a contender. I identify "White Cliffs of Dover" with Bomber Command with whom my father in law,aged 20, served as a Lancaster Bomber pilot.He dropped food supplies to the starving Dutch,flew refugee rescue missions,,as well as bombing numerous German cities. Bomber Command crew had a 1 in 3 chance of comming home alive from bombing missions,seldom completeing more than 7 missions,individually..!! Your "Night After Night" book is a harrowing read.
